Where We Build
Habitat for Humanity of Catawba Valley builds homes solely in Catawba County. The majority of homes are built in the city of Hickory, but we have also built neighborhoods in Newton and Conover. To find other Habitat affiliates, click here.
There are many factors involved in deciding where the next Habitat neighborhood will be built, and it is usually determined by the affordability and size of the land Habitat purchases.
We have neighborhoods within Hickory in Ridgeview, Eastridge, Highland, and Kenworth.
In March of 2008 Habitat broke ground on Phase 2 of its Blue Sky Acres subdivision off of Robinson Rd. in Newton. Habitat built 14 houses in Phase 1 of this development, and plans to build 23 more in Phase 2. Click here for directions to Blue Sky Acres.
