Adopt A Home

Adopting a Habitat for Humanity home is a great way for your church or business to join together to help a family in need.  Groups who adopt a home contribute all or part of the house sponsorship cost as well as contributing volunteer labor on some or all workdays for the home.  Currently it costs $60,000 to adopt a home, which covers the costs of building materials and some subcontractor labor.  To see a breakdown of these costs, click here.

The benefits of Adopting a Home are many, including:

  • Increasing camaraderie and team spirit
  • A sense of accomplishment and empowerment
  • Raising the profile of your group in the community
  • Promoting a spirit of compassion while working with our neighbors in need.

Is Adopting A Home right for my group?

If your group is considering Adopting a Home, you may want to take a look at the Introductory Kit or the full Adopt a Home Manual for more information.  Habitat will work with you to coordinate most aspects of the build.

For more information, contact the Executive Director at (828) 328-4663 or by e-mail.
